Pool Automation Installation & Repair

Control your pool from your phone, simplify schedules, heat the spa before you get home, manage lights and equipment, and check on the pool when you're away. Turtle Pool Care installs, upgrades and troubleshoots pool automation systems.

Serving Wellington, Westlake, Loxahatchee & The Acreage, Royal Palm Beach, Greenacres, Avenir, The Club at Ibis.

What pool automation lets you do

Heat the spa before you get home

Where the installed system supports it, automation can let you start spa heating remotely rather than waiting until you arrive.

Check the pool while you're away

Remote access can be useful when you're traveling or away from the property and want visibility into the equipment and schedules supported by the system.

Manage pump schedules

Automation can make it easier to schedule compatible variable-speed pumps and other equipment to run when and how you want them.

Control lights and water features

Compatible lights and water features can be controlled from the automation system or app where supported.

Manage heating and cooling

Where supported, pool heaters, heat pumps and heat/cool systems can be controlled from the same automation interface.

Control spa modes and valves

Automation can simplify switching between pool and spa operation on systems designed for that configuration.

Automation systems we work with

Turtle Pool Care installs, services and troubleshoots major pool automation ecosystems from Pentair, Hayward and Jandy.

Pentair

  • IntelliCenter
  • EasyTouch
  • ScreenLogic
  • Pentair Home (where applicable to the installed equipment)

Hayward

  • OmniLogic
  • OmniHub
  • ProLogic

Jandy

  • AquaLink RS
  • iAquaLink

Not every app works with every controller. We verify the actual equipment before recommending a system.

Pool app offline or automation not responding?

A common automation service call is not a failed pump or heater — it is an app or controller that suddenly stops communicating.

  • New router
  • Wi-Fi password change
  • Internet/network change
  • Power outage
  • Controller lost network connection
  • Communication issue between controller and equipment
  • Schedule reset
  • App/controller pairing problem
  • Equipment no longer responding through automation

The correct fix depends on the specific system. We do not assume every offline problem is a quick fix or that it can be resolved remotely.

Changed your router or Wi-Fi password?

Replacing a router or changing the Wi-Fi network can disconnect a pool automation system from the internet even though the pool equipment itself still works locally.

Turtle Pool Care can help determine whether the problem is network connectivity, controller setup, app configuration or communication with the pool equipment.

When the app works but the equipment doesn't

Sometimes the app and controller are online, but a pump, heater, light, valve or other connected device does not respond.

  • Configuration issue
  • Equipment communication problem
  • Relay/control issue
  • Controller programming
  • Incompatible equipment
  • Equipment fault unrelated to automation

We diagnose the automation and the connected equipment rather than assuming the controller is always the problem.

Schedules not running correctly

Automation schedules can be affected by programming changes, controller resets, power interruptions, time/date settings or equipment configuration.

If the equipment works manually but not on schedule, the automation configuration is one of the first places to look.

Can an older pool be automated?

Often, yes.

The practical answer depends on the equipment already installed, including the pump, heater, lights, valves, salt system and existing control hardware.

Turtle Pool Care evaluates what can be integrated, what may require an interface or upgrade, and what may need replacement before recommending an automation retrofit.

Will my existing equipment work with a new automation system?

Compatibility depends on the actual controller and connected equipment.

Some equipment integrates directly. Some systems require specific interfaces. Some combinations have limited functionality, and some equipment may not communicate with a particular controller at all.

We verify the pump, heater, lights, salt system, valves and other connected equipment before recommending an upgrade.

Choosing the right automation system

The best system usually depends on the equipment already installed and what the homeowner wants to control.

  • Existing pump brand/model
  • Heater or heat/cool equipment
  • Salt system
  • Pool/spa configuration
  • Number of valves
  • Lighting
  • Water features
  • Desired phone/app control
  • Future equipment upgrades
  • Existing controller/wiring
  • Mixed-brand compatibility

Matching the automation ecosystem to the existing and planned equipment is usually more important than choosing a controller based on the app alone.

Can automation help reduce energy use?

Automation itself does not create energy savings, but it can make it easier to operate compatible variable-speed equipment efficiently.

For example, scheduling a variable-speed pump appropriately can reduce unnecessary operation at full speed compared with an older single-speed approach.

Control heating and cooling from the same system

Where supported by the controller and equipment, pool automation can integrate heating, spa temperature control and heat/cool systems into the same interface.

That can make it easier to warm the spa before arriving home or adjust pool-temperature settings without visiting the equipment pad.

Salt systems and automation

Some saltwater systems can integrate with automation, allowing the controller to coordinate or display supported operating information.

Automation in newer pools and communities

Newer pools in communities such as Westlake and Avenir often include modern variable-speed equipment, app-based controls or automation-ready components.

Turtle Pool Care can help homeowners understand what is already installed, finish setup, troubleshoot connectivity and plan future upgrades.

Useful when you're away from the property

Remote pool control can be particularly useful for homeowners who travel or spend extended periods away from the property.

Automation can provide remote access to supported equipment, while Turtle Pool Care's weekly service reports document the physical condition of the pool, chemistry and service visit.

Automation doesn't replace hands-on pool care

Automation can control equipment, schedules and supported settings, but it does not physically inspect the pool, brush surfaces, test water chemistry or check the equipment pad for developing problems.

That is why automation and weekly service complement each other rather than replacing one another.
